It’s that time again. Time for me to show off my favorite designs from the past 2.5 months.
Dirk Uhlenbrock used Millie Regular on this awesome, letterpressed, thing. Until I learn German, I’ll stick with “thing” as a good description. Is there, really, a better font for designing the word Hell?
Work Hard, Play Harder
I’m not playing favorites here, but Dirk Uhlenbrock is using Millie in all the right ways. Love this one.
Olly Sorsby is a gentleman, and a master in the realm of classic design. The vintage twist he put on Millie really surprised me. I designed Millie because I was looking for a very modern, geometric, script. But he saw it for something completely different, when he used it for his Canals of England project. This is why I love creativity.
I don’t even know where to begin with Andrew Colin Beck. I swear this dude never sleeps, yet when you’re with him he acts like he has all the time in the world for what you have to say. I always feel privileged when he uses my fonts.
This year I have been enormously blessed with support from people who, before 2012, I had never even met. The internet has been good to me, and I hope I can be good in return.
Thanks to all of you, three days ago was the last day of my day job as an art director. You’ve bought my fonts, you’ve hired me to create your websites, and you’ve really motivated me to try for something big. fonts.kylewaynebenson.com is the first in many new changes to my identity and my approach to art.
